If the the share price is above the execution price of the options and you don't have enough liquidity to execute them you probably sell the amount of shares and use that money to execute the options. In this way you gain a little profit, your share count remains and you give the company some money. Even if the most people think the options are in the money by August it is not sure, so waiting until the last moment might not be the best option.
