Yeah I immediately assumed welding to be out of the question also. It appears that the temperature for creating this combination is quite critical and would be completely ruined by welding.
Unless... if the filler is pre-infused with graphene, maybe it still functions after being added to the weld.
New application idea, if this didnt all get ruined by heat, graphene infused welding filler to create stronger aluminium joins on regular, non graphene aluminium?
I wonder how this material would react as a filler when being melted by an arc.
