Hi B2, the market is volatile and can be very unkind even to stocks in good uptrends at the moment. I relate the number of shares to the amount i risk. A wide stop loss just reduces the number of shares i purchase. I am not a day trader more shortish term with a few long term holds.
Also i keep a close watch for strong reversal signals.
