The meeting went well and Senator Fielding spoke forcefully.. His words seemed to be as genuine as you will get from a polly..

He detailed the ins and outs of the legislation.. He lay into the Government, Senator Conroy, the brutality of the legislation, the lack of a business plan for the NBN to convince people of its commerciality, the hidden agendas, the motive/s for the legislation, the Governments deep seated hatred for Telstra and the contempt for TLS shareholders and other stakeholders, which were basically conned by previous Governments..

Things that are now very apparent to me:
(1) The NBN/Telstra legislation will never pass the Senate in it's current form..
(2) It will not pass in any form, until the negotiations between NBN CO and Telstra are complete and he said that there should be no time limit placed on these discussions, considering the high stakes involved.. When the decision one way or the other, is reached it should be evaluted along side a business plan for the NBN build and it's pricing..
(3) That means, that it will not be in this term of this Government..

Many questions were asked and answered to the best of his ability.. Too many to discuss on this forum, but watch the SBS news tonight..

However, he was given a clear message to take back to Canberra.. That if the Government thinks that an ANGRY 1.4M direct shareholders, millions of indirect shareholders, 40,000 TLS employees and all their family and friends, cannot influence the result of the next Federal election, they had better think again..

Also, it seems funny that 3 hrs after the meeting has finished, it has not been reported in the press. Bad news on TLS seems to travel a lot faster.. Obviously, the $250M bribe has worked..
