The current Telstra's management need to convince the gov that, they are no longer a Sol's legacy... Like it or not, beside us taxpayers, Telstra is the only player in the industry which has a financial capacity to support the NBN scheme.

All Telstra needs to do is to work with the Gov, ensuring a fair and competitive playing field for all in the industry. Meaning splitting up into two.. One is a service provider, one is a infrastructure owner which can own 1/2 of the BNB.. why couldn't that be done ?

Until we see that to happen, then the Gov will push on with the NBN, if Telstra is to continue head butting against the Gov & regulators. Telstra will soon left with some copper wire cables network.. which may only be good for scrap metals in 10-15 years time... They will make sure Telstra won't be a dominant player in the wireless broadband either. Think about it!!!.
