Respect your view. But we will have to disagree on this one.
The reason the ETS did not pass is the balance of power is held by the Greens and the two conservative senators - Fielding and Xenophon.
If it were just a question of the Greens agreeing, I would agree with you. But it requires these other two. This is why the ETS did not pass.
And that is now. The balance of power in the Senate will swing further away from Labor aftere the election, (IF they are still in power).
After the election, Labor will have less seats, and the Liberals more. It will be a stalemate.
I can drag up the current numbers in the Senate if you like. The problem current for ALL governments is, no one has the power to pass anything.
