an added circumstance to this is the amount of 457s in the country - many come here from the middle east (philipinos eg) where they have no agreement or awb

they happily accept 3 hrs pay on a wet day where before the standard was 4 hrs or 8 minimum for the day which they would not get anywhere else.

while i dont wholly condemn the idea of the visa i do see that with the import of these comes a degrading of the conditions that australia once enjoyed - the construction industry is degrading not only in conditions but also skills and aust will suffer for it
