Hope I don't put anyone off figs.
Your need to pick figs at just the right time, if allowed to ripen to far they will have fig wasp larvae in them.
Figs need to be pollinated by the fig wasp which lay their eggs in them.
Fresh figs are wonder full, I would break them open have a quick look (don't look to hard) and munch.
