So if you manage to get the prickly pears down from the tree, grab the thickest pair of gloves you have and grab the prickly pear in one hand and with a knife slice the two ends off. Then make a slit lengthways down, then you kind of peel it all the way around. Comes off kind of like a banana but you're going round the prickly pear. Hope that makes sense. Make sure they have a bit of colour on them. Ours turn red but if we see a bit of colour we pick them.
