    Hi Frogen,

We spent a month in Fiji last year. We rented a house in Pacific Harbour for a month but spent a couple of days at the Outrigger at Sigatoka as we had a family wedding there. The Outrigger is very popular with families and seem to be their target market. Great pools, friendly kid dining options and a kids club if you need some quiet time yourself. It's a bus/taxi ride to the nearest shopping centre but the resort does run connection buses.

We also spent quite a lot of time at the Uprising resort at Pacific Harbour, quite a few meals, boat trips, cocktails on a rainy day. It's the antithesis of the Outrigger, great food and drinks and quite a bit more laid back. The staff love children and the beach is safe. Individual bures and well maintained. Really tropical ambience.

We rented a car from the local servo at Pacific Harbour and did day trips everywhere which was good. A lot of the adventure activities pick up or leave from Pacific Harbour which was convenient. The house had a lovely pool which was serviced by a local gentleman every day, even in the rain.

We visited a couple of islands on boat/diving/snorkelling trips but didn't actually stay on them. The islands aren't that big actually and depending on your preferences, you might run out of things to do. If you want to idle time away in the pool or on the beach they would be a great option. They also have limited water supplies and generate their own power, something to keep in mind.

Totally enjoyed our time in Fiji and regularly check Uprising's web page for any special deals. I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip there but you do have to get used to Fiji time, no-one's ever in a hurry.
