    Paringa Resources (ASX:PNL) files for bankruptcy, lays off half its U.S. coal mine staff



    • A Kentucky coal mine is on its last legs after a Paringa Resources' (PNL) subsidiary filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy
    • Now, up to 40 Americans, or half the Poplar Grove coal mine's staff, are without jobs while Paringa attempts to find a suitable buyer
    • The Australian explorer made the decision through its U.S. company, Hartshorne Mining Group
