Yes of course they will care if they lose votes over it. They have mandate to create jobs. $1billion means jobs and the multiplier effect throughout the economy. Big impact for rural areas. That's why the Government submission argued strongly for no declaration. They want Telstra's $1billion spent and no complaints from rural communities about coverage. You bet the Government wants this resloved quickly. How long til the next election.....??
