We finally reached the target at a depth of 5,100m, a great achievement!
All STX announcements have been within a few meters of the original survey assessment excluding final depth. One earlier poster through out a what if scenario of the 5,100m end point, which I found interesting. Is it simply the technology utilised does not have the capability and accuracy at such depths? I don't think I read a post that clearly articulated the reason why. Personally I don't have the answer and am keen to understand a little more. Does anyone have knowledge as to why??
