@wowog there are still many nice and unexplored places all around the world, some might even be close to home (i.e. Australia) -but I do cherish my memory of arriving too early by train from Vienna - with youngest daughter - and walked around for a while on the empty 'calle' and then we sat under a small bridge (not a historic one) and watched the city come to life, watched the early deliveries of fresh bread delivered, openly carried on trays - from a barge - all fragrant - watched the early joggers - then later on, of course, the throng of tourists spilling forth into this wondrous city.
We had been expected at 9 a.m., but arrived at 5 am - - - so - eventually - our escort duly arrived and a marvellous and informative time was had by mother and daughter, a wonderful distraction after my husband's death a few months earlier.
Lets hear it for the citizens of all those famous tourist places who benefit but also suffer from the constant tourist trade. smile.pngsmile.pngsmile.png
