This has been on HC before. Gillian McKeith suffers from a lifelong deformity of her spine which causes severe pain. She has scoliosis of the spine which should have been picked up and treated as a teenager as it was for a female cousin of mine who grew so fast that her muscles couldn't keep up with the bone growth (if I remember rightly) - she is now around six feet tall.
McKeith came from a deprived background unlike the vivacious Nigella, daughter of the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Vanessa Salmon, whose family owned the J. Lyons and Company empire (J. Lyons & Co. was a market-dominant British restaurant-chain, food-manufacturing, and hotel conglomerate founded in 1887 as a spin-off from the Salmon & Gluckstein tobacco company.)
