mmm about programming .. the only programming that watso does these days, - is that he has been programmed to jump on his pushie every day, to get to the ye old grannies slop shop - and buy a dozen bottles of tawny..
lol lol ok watso was trying to recall his first book about programming .. a big book ... and watso did try and find the title of the book - but hey .. a book title from about 50 years ago .. damn it all - but the best that watso can think of was something along the lines of "programming for the social sciences "
anyway, for what it is worth, but watso recalls doing some cobol, pascal, fortran .. and obviously basic ...
watso's first computer was an australian built MICROBEE (from memory $699 and that was real money back then) , which came complete with an inbuilt word processer and a basic programming language .. and storage was via a cassette tape ..
lol lol and watso obviously had to buy a monitor and a dot matrix printer .. also a modem, and then disk readers .. oh and watso bought a eprom chip burner

mmm the laptop that watso uses these days, is the same price that watso paid for his dotmatrix printer .. but after allowing for inflation .. just a fraction of the cost ...
and watso still has printing needs .. easy peasy .. download to a usb drive - and off to officeworks ...
and in relation to programming .. well watso does not know and does not care .. so long as watso's lap top functions .. all is well with the world
