Well Indigo, it would be much worse for VRC if there wasn't the demand for Graphite, and Graphite sales weren't predicted to boom in the next 12 months or so. The more Graphite is in demand, the greater the chance that VRC can secure the funding it needs! But VRC is not alone, there are several Graphite companies seeking funding, including WKT, which shot up from 9.6c to a high of 34c in the last few weeks!

This demand for Graphite, and in fact there is a prediction of a shortfall in Graphite supply for 2020 onwards, gives VRC's chances of securing funding a boost. Well, let's jolly well hope so, anyway! With other Graphite companies seeking funding, the sooner that VRC can secure that US$40m, and get a head start on those other companies, the better!

Fastmarkets’ Battery Materials Conference in Shanghai
Held last week, this important conference had some interesting comments made from presenters.

"Natural graphite to become new trend in EV sectors in the future". There is "increasing demand for natural graphite cathode for new energy vehicles (EVs) and its cheaper price compared with synthetic graphite".... "The natural graphite market is expected to be short by 34,000 tonnes in 2020. It is expected that by 2025, the market for battery cathode materials will require an additional 1.2 million tonnes of nature graphite, which may lead to a shortage of 385,000 tonnes by 2025".... "Increasing demand for spherical graphite in new energy vehicle batteries has led to a surge in Chinese imports of upstream materials such as flake graphite". (April 16th 2019)
