Mines are core heavy industries 8% of gdp in SA and that's low. In Australia it's 15%. The infrastructure situation in SA is still very favourable compared to other countries in Africa and the sovereign risk is not as great as other either imo. Fair enough people can debate that.
From what I saw and here old gold is right there is a lack of exploration or appetite to startup mines in SA.
Not a lack of resources to mine even with Witswaterand being mined for hundreds of years the gold is still available at a mineable grade.
Hence I feel WWI could create a decent company in SA alone let alone Australia for mining.
Time will tell.
