At one BHP coal mine it costs about $53 usa dollars just to break even..... But It is presently selling coal for between $42 and $44 usa…..a lose of about $11us a tonne. BHP recently down graded the mines value from about $1.6 billion to a figure of $380 million...
Production will also decrease at some Glencore and Rio mines... around the country with a few going into care and maintenance for a while
