    Cars depreciate quickly, happens quite a lot. Buy a car today for 22k and many will be 5-8k value in little more than 5 years.

    Prime example - Buy a Holden Volt today for 60k odd and it will be worth approximately zip! in 8 years time when you realise the battery soon has to be replaced at 16k plus labour. (Also, Volt is only $34k in the USA??? Go figure)
