err, wrong. I'm getting up to 8.5% on BBB rated senior debt bonds against some pretty large corporations (hopefully) too large to fail. 6- 7% on world top 50 companies is not difficult. As always, it all depends on the risks you are willing to take. Putting all your $1M in a bank(s) at typical short and long term deposit rates certainly has its own risks - too much, imo, for the return.
