Funny how you conveniently 'overlooked' the FACTs.....such as, the cost of drilling 'Reese#2' has already been recovered.
Or, this one well has multiple zones.....so if one zone depletes, we go to the next zone...in the SAME WELL.
The fact that, modern research has found the further you drill away from the cap of a salt dome - and the deeper you go down (the original seabed is 30,000 feet below - and the big boys of O & G have the technology to drill this deep), the more chance you have of finding previously undiscovered oil fields.

Or, in fact, the following overview on their Batson Dome drillings, from Vanguard Energy. This is one of the historical salt domes which, like Spindletop, Humble et.al., are still producing 100 years later.....by using this very latest research of...further away and drill down deeper.
Note also, the bopd figure they are getting (120 bopd but from four wells).
