All year long, the calendar was advising the 24th as the release date. Last week, this was pushed back to the 28th, with the last possible release date being Monday, the 31st. Traditionally, the last reporting date is when all the bad news bears, the minnows and the cash strapped quarter by quarter explorers all come out. It's not usually a day reserved for the ASX100 or ASX200 listings.

As for the 28th, with this being a Friday, there will also be a deluge of other reports also coming out, so the prospects of close scrutiny of the accounts is a little less likely. The delay from the 24th to the 28th, I would rate as marginally concerning for which they will then need to reassure shareholders about (particularly the institutional holders, many of whom will now be smarting for the >50% price retracement form the April 2015 institutional raising).

It is interesting to note however that Morgans still have SGH reporting on the 24th (so, they haven't yet updated their calendar details):

Mind you, look at who will also be reporting on the 24th - BLA, BPT, EPX, GHC, JHC, MTU, VTG. Slaters would have been close to being the heavyweight report of the day.

Now, look at who will be reporting on the 28th - AFJ, BAL, BGA (Bega - 3 profit downgrades already), FND, IPH, REG (Regis Healthcare), SHJ (Shine), SIQ, SLR (downgrade), TNK, WOW (Woolworths - flat). 4 ASX200 companies will be reporting that day 2 of which already have profit /market concerns arising,

No-one is reporting on the Monday, being 31/8, so it could well be that the 28th is actually the last ASX permitted reporting date.

The other thing to watch out for going ahead is any possible re-rating of the ASX indexes. On 3/6/15, SGH was ranked 100 in the ASX 200. Now, it would be ranked closer to 150. Those institutions which weight their portfolios to the Index rankings will likely take notice of this.
