New rules for Lynas in Malaysia

Malaysia has imposed two new conditions on Australian miner Lynas before it can start operating a rare earth refinery.
The conditions relate to controlling dust and immobilising radioactive elements in waste.
They are aimed at allaying public fears about radioactive pollution.
A group of villagers that has been lobbying against the plant said on Friday that the conditions were inadequate to safeguard public safety.
Tan Bun Tet, who heads the group, vowed to go to court.
Lynas has said its plant, the first rare earth refinery outside China in years, is ready to start operating.
