Most companies set aside some money as contingency for litigation.
Given the scale of the claim, not sure whether CER/CNP have done so.
I'm not 100% sure if CER's insurance would cover losses of this nature.
Defabster - would you know from the financials?
I imagine the auditors will also be found to be partially liable.
I expect that this matter will settle out of court in a confidential settlement.
I hope that the end result is the auditors bear the brunt of the blame, as the insurance companies will pay this in any case.
In any event, I do not expect CER to be too out of pocket (apart from legal fees) from this class action.
