With this the big end of town smart arses who think they can bend the will of countries are not so sure they can conduct themselves in the same arrogant high handed ways of old.
They have had years to get their act together since the laws were enacted but they all ignored it reckoning they could stare the Indonesians down.
It's not looking good for Freeport and their ilk
But good for Finders now and in the long run.
By being compliant with the laws of Indonesia and not being arrogant and high handed should give them front running chairs at the table for future licenses/leases/etc as good corporate citizens who have performed and respect Indonesian sovereignty and not just a band exploiters who just want to do as they feel like doing.
Pity Australia has not wielded the stick on the big end of town mineral exploiters who have just taken and given precious little in return
