We used to make giant birds nests by weaving thick sticks and then leaves and grasses into the branches in the tops of huge trees when we were kids and sleep up in them. How we did not kill ourselves I have no idea.

Climbing trees was the best thing I remember from childhood.

I sat up in the Gloucester tree in WA for over an hour. It was sublime. Except that on my way back down an Asian lady had frozen to the bars about 80% of the way to the top. She could not speak English and nothing I could do could convince her to move. She became petrified, so I had to pass her by going out on the end of the bar by holding only the nut on the end and stepping down by facing the tree. That took me too an interesting place. The balls of my feet started dancing with nerves, something I didn't feel in my head but my body was not happy with me.

Nobody has died at that tree so I guess somebody got her down.
