From a stable environment in the sbt facility to offshore cages is a significant test for sbt which have until now been in constant and artificially controlled ecosystem. Would you rather management put the majority/all of the sbts into the cages where they are unsure of there survival? 90 is a good number to test them, not too many to cause a significant loss and enough to gather information on the behavior/health post transfer.

It seems management are much more cautious this time around, allowing for loses instead of assuming they have this stuff figured out like they did previously. I'm certain the amount of fingerlings at the facility are still still very high.
