My home phone makes calls, why would I need a mobile phone, why would I need it to be able to connect me to the web? Take advantage of the Tech revolution, don't seek to maintain the Status Quo of digging up the planet and polluting the atmosphere when the Tech revolution is providing economically advantageous alternatives that, as well as reducing the earths man caused destruction can provide power to the areas of the world that currently do not have access to power. Look at the big picture. Economists, Sociologists, and Scientists write whole books that address your post.
