If we were all "Boat People" - and many of us are indeed just that, being able to trace our descent from "Boat People", of varying degrees of freedom, incarceration, wealth or extreme poverty - (our kin were not met at the docks with enthused lawyers and social workers with bouqets and welcome hampers) - all falling all over themselves to extend the hands of friendship and help, we would be welcomed and warmed and supported. Our folks had to fend for themselves - live and thrive - or starve and die - all on their own initiative. and in this laterst outrage, seems we are again on our own. So-called "Civil Libertarian" Lawyers - so self-rightous pro bono heroes when it comes to cherry-picking who will get their sympathy, and who not!
Oh no, most of us are just boring old Aussies, No glamor or romance or persona kudos to be had in helping us! No Orders of Australias - or other undeserved gongs!
So where are all these do-gooder, bleeding heart lawyers who should be screaming blue murder at this Finkelstein outrage - a man, one assumes, drawn from the ranks of the Jewish faith - the very person who should be valuing and protecting freedoms of the masses - whomever they are - not stamping his boot on them - and the very person who should be protecting people's basic democratic rights and freedoms of speech.
If bad men do bad things - why, then, are they supported in this by persons one can only allege have the same traits, those of a willingness to deny people their freedoms and rights - helping dictators spawn their kingdoms - with their boots firmly shoved into our faces! e rise of Hitler and Nazism are oft quoted - everything bad starts with one baby step! And this censorship threatened is just that - a baby step down the road to evil and supression.

I suggest everyone with any sense of patriotism and our rights to freedom of speech follow the petition launched on this thread - write to YOUR local member - of whatever ilk - and tell them " we've had enough - and we aren't going to take it any more."
Suggest you do this as soon as possible, as Gillard, if she gets her Far Leftist way, will soon ensure that you can no longer write any such letters, in protest at anything,m without fear of heavy fines and or a gaol term!

If I dared write this a year from now If Finkelstein succeeds in this enormous injustice, I may well be a candidate for the full weight of the law.
