This is just my personal opinion and not investment advice.
If I was to put some emotion into the whole situation at the moment, the key strategic advantage of junior market cap O&G companies like CTP have is shareholder their unity and support.
My impression is that the CTP shareholders are an unusually loyal group of special people who, given a sound business plan and a good board would probably have been prepared to capitalise the operation as required provided management were open and transparent.
The shareholding contains quite a few people with extensive experience in the O&G industry and it is a pity that CTP management did not adopt a much more consultative approach.
Unfortunately I see the CTP saga as having ramifications for other O&G juniors and would be surprised if investors in these operations were not understandably wary of a similar takeover scenario.
Notwithstanding, Mereenie has been a very difficult mistress to her past suitors and may well be far better off if owned wholly by a small and agile operation such as CTP (Share holders).
