Linc are selling some none core coal tenements not the company.
Australia might be trying to decouple from polluting energy but want to keep the royalties coming in.
So for my thinking allowing a company like Linc to sell off dirty coal assets while pursuing clean energy from coal is a win win for Australia. I'm sure Linc will be advising the Aus Government the revenues from the sale will ensure they build a commercial green energy plant, pretty compelling argument.
Australia gets to move towards clean power generation, but keep the royalties coming in from dirty energy exported to Energy hungry developing Countries. The world can't and wont de-couple from coal fired power stations for decades but we don't want to expand our coal fired power stations.
IMHO I don't think Linc will have a problem off loading these assets and FIRB approval will be granted.
