Yes, Rabbitoh. A conservative decision to secure a certain cashflow (assuming the agreement is binding) from the sale of the non-US gas/condensate prospects to focus on their emerging gold resource. The free-carried US interests are a no-brainer to leave as-is.
I keep looking at page 2 (Nambi longitudinal projection) of the 25 January 08 announcement and I see the logic of their thesis in seeking deeper extensions to a known, prolific and open-pittable orebody to mitigate exploration and operational risk and to accelerate definition of what I feel will ultimately be a large resource across all their Leonora gold tenements.
I topped up again on Friday on the basis of the gold alone, and first invested on the basis of the gold alone. Managements daily have to make hard decisions, and I favor a certain cashflow today over an uncertain one in the future. Still, knowing my luck, Fireball Creek will be an elephantine gas prospect!
