We always built the bonfire between the shearing shed and the Spring for the July hit out.
The property was a convergence of hills so the shearing shed and spring were close to the low point and not on the top of a hill.
Do you catch yabbies out of the river or a dam on your property? We always had a few trap’s and a good 20 meat on a string set up’s working so when we had had enough libations/aperitif’s we could eat some local yabbies/koonjak’s.
