You are right.

Not too many have been through an '87 and survived. I did and only just.

I do worry, probably too much like my grandparents who lived through the depression and never spent a penny afterwards that they didn't have to.

I probably am paranoid in that regard but I feel like I am prepared to make a little less rather than disregard the risk.

The great thing is that there is so much more input these days from people like you plus historical knowledge and I find it amazing that so many want to regard it all as useless information.
