At what cost per tonne per capita do you think is fair?

You are still missing the point.

Even if we went to zero emission for Australia (ie turn off the power plants, ban sale of fuels for cars & make it illegal to burn fire wood to cook etc) what impact will that have on global emmissions?
What would be the drag on our ecomony to reduce world wide pollution by 3/8 of 1/2 of bugger all?

Flip your agrument...In the same breath is it then fair to exect the SAME level of commitment (ie per capita cost) from other higher tonnage/ higher popoulation & CO2 pollutors?

(Hey China I see you have the lowest co2 output per person in the WORLD...good job your not impacting the global situation at all, it is countries like Australia that are case of global warming with their high per capita output?) - sarcasm implied .

In the scheme of TOTAL global emission Australia it is barely a pimple on the butt of global CO2 output.

Like I said with current technology Australia HAS to go nuclear if it is serious.
You can't be green with out embracing nuclear into the fold.
