The following paper set out to prove that using a spiking neuromorphic chip to process stereo camera feeds, state of the art performance could be achieved for depth perception and succeeded.

In discussing their approach the researchers refer to the types of SNN chips that would be suitable and nominate Loihi, TrueNorth and AKIDA.

Now first mover advantage is clearly with AKIDA so if someone like Elon Musk is looking to improve the performance of his cameras in this area he could wait for 3 to 5 years or he could buy the AKIDA IP and be up and running.
