the Libs need some policies. They need some thinkers. They need ideas they have none of these at the moment and there don't seem to be too many around
Read some Vic state political history. When Labor won power in 1999 they had a rag tag bunch of 29 members in the House against 49 Libs and 9 Nats. They had just sacked ther leader (Brumby) and they had no thinkers. no ideas and very little talent. They still won because of Kennet.
They had so little talent that four or five of them had multiple portfolios.
Moral of the story - governments lose, oppositions rarely, if ever, win.
Advance to 2010 - Labor has the sacked leader, no ideas, very little talent (name one) and a litany of failed projects. In this scenario the Libs can win - they have a good leader if he's given any oxygen.
ps - today Batchelor resigned after 20 years and 11 as a minister - he's is un-hireable. A joke. They have announced this after pre-selections closed and will parachute the former councillor of Brimbank - Natalie Suleyman - into the safest seat in Victoria - check out her history :) The Labor party is a party of thugs.
