8,000 plus died in captivity under Japanese - Burma Rail and Changi
Indescribable torture was inflicted on Australian troops by these people - some survivors still live , wives , girlfriends , brothers , sisters , sons , daughters still live - this is living history , fresh in our minds , in our memories
70 years later with so many having memories of these atrocities still alive our Australian Government is inviting Japanese military to join in military manoeuvres here in Australia
Still to this day Japan has not apologised for their actions in WWII
But we are expected to forgive and forget - move on and get on with life , don't be bitter
