We only just recently began to celebrate Australia Day--1994----Most people happy with life join in have a nice day, a holiday, but really not bothered one way or the other, -- it's more a commercial thing, good for shops, food industry, advertising, like Christmas!

It's is not mandatory to celebrate the day, Aboriginals are not forced to join in or celebrate the day--so why should they care, they are free to have their own day if the so choose, call it ---( ' Sorry Day', --sorry for themselves day) most of us don't celebrate the Chinese NY, but have no objections to Chinese friends who do so. Most people don't even know why Australia Day is held on January 26 and don't mind which day we celebrate, new poll reveals

A majority of Australians would support changing the date of Australia Day from January 26, a new poll suggests. Data from a Research Now survey asked 1417 people their thoughts on Australia Day.
