Assuming you were not being sarcastic, you are actually quite right. The Soviets were not pure communists in the same way as many current governments are not Keynesian. It suited the Soviets to brand themselves as communist just as it suits some current foreign politicians to brand inflationary policy as Keynesian.
If you think the Soviets were pure communists and current politicians are real Keynesians you must have a lot more faith in governments than I do!
