AOC certainly wouldn't relinquish the Dharoor seismic data. Farole holds little political clout in the Bari region. Any new player would need to go through the same political processes before any exploration could begin. There would be disagreements and challenges along the way causing delays. I'm sure Range and AOC would stir up opposition Garowe online style to derail any success. The price of oil, the credit squeeze and political uncertainty would be prohibative for most new players, trying to start from scratch.

Range have a legally binding JV agreement with AOC which Canadian courts would recognise.
