"the oil that was sampled was generally light, mobile and non viscous. The overall results substanially exceeded the joint ventures most likely pre-drill expectation and confirmed the well as a potentially significant oil discovery." and "the prospect was assessed to have mean unrisked potential of 28 million barrels..."

Following early analysis of two sidetracks the ceo from roc oil implied a much larger pay zone....

"Although exact numbers for recoverable reserves are not yet available it is possible to provide a tentative sense of direction as to the likely order of magnitude of in-place oil and the commercial potential of the field. The balance of current probabilities suggests that the oil in-place is likely to be measured in terms of many tens of millions of barrels and, if this proves to be the case, a commercial development would be anticipated."


Further tests will confirm just how big the discovery is and commercial viability of the well.
