The shockwave from yesterdays CBA AGM outcome will reverberate throughout boardrooms.

Complacent and self serving Boards have been given the wake up call regarding the redefined relationship between Shareholder welfare, business results, and remuneration packages for Company Officials.

I hope all Empire Shareholders can now see that important messages can be conveyed and changes can be brought about through shareholder unity, especially when there are issues of declining performance, and demands for increasing salaries and benefits are being encountered at AGM.

It is fitting that the badly needed breakthrough has occurred within the market leader in our banking sector, and it should serve to remind those with their hands out for more remuneration, when the results being achieved are declining. The days of entitlement for just turning up are gone?

My message as a shareholder is; Perform, or move over so we can find someone who will!
