    CMB you are probably right.

    The DOW has been inching up - although low volumes, the XJO drifting down, but no volume behind it.

    Fears about the Shanghai boards perhaps - worries that China may collapse.

    I don't know - technically the DOW monthly is at a really interesting point. If you make the assumption that bearish stocks bounce down from the mid bollinger (20 day MA) and bullish stocks cross it then September will bring crunch time. The DOW will either have the strength to move into longer term (monthly) bullish territory - or will retrace back down.

    Monthly the DOW MACD is just about to cross bullish, the RSI and Stoch are bullish - BUT - and it's a big BUT, have things really improved enough for people to call a bull market....

    Daily and weekly the DOW is overbought - the combination of which would worry people. A few days of a cool off is one thing - but if we are looking at a few weeks while the weekly chart takes a breather

    So perhaps you are right, people are waiting for confirmation that we are really in a bull market, not just the top of a bullish retracement in a bear market - both of which look the same.....
