Here are a couple of interesting data facts about Fish By Product operations:

- 1 tonne of fish by product produces approximately 203 litres of fish oil and 185 kilograms of fish meal
- 1 tonne of fish oil sells for approximately AUD $2572/ tonne (not pharmaceutical grade)
- 1 tonne of fish meal sells for approximately AUD $2315/ tonne

Tassal's new By Products factory will be able to process 20,000 tonnes of fish per annum and is anticipated to cost circa $11m to build and will employ 20 staff.
