you've hit the nail on the head as to why I asked the question about the numbers.
This is straight from the words of PLV's July 5th announcement this year:
Our observations to date lead us to believe that there is potential for a high grade, low impurity, ore body that is greater than about 30 metres thick and measures in area some 2 kilometres by 3 kilometres
Now the question is how credible is that statement? If its credible then its enormous. But as you say - BHP's quick assessment of 7.5 million tonnes of ore on the isthmus and hardstaff pt areas a while back is probably the better and more conservative one to work with.
But there's at least 50 million tonnes on koolan island (which I think is a larger island). Not sure how much is on co ckatoo.
