Nothing has changed mate.
The preparation of communications has never been brilliant. In some cases possibly in an attempt to suppress exuberance but in all likelihood due to the declining rate of attention to detail in the written word that we see across society in general.
That stems from fewer and fewer people actually having concern for such attention to detail.
Being a pedant it annoys me mostly. If one was to pick every sentence apart one could come up with a range of interpretations.
One day someone will take another on I reckon and a judge equally predisposed to slackness will dismiss it on the grounds of 'well I reckon that's what he meant'
