Hi huabamane thanks for pointing out what Tsingshan produces, I'll be honest with you I think I read few times that TD was a steel producer and that was good enough for me, never investigate further....
I have recently log in to Tsingshan web site, should have done it earlier, lots of extra info including apparently the fact that TD every year is climbing the China fortune 500 companies ladder...meaning that every year is doing better and better. I like to think that it will be also the direction of Nic...
On the reasons why TD is not processing Ni directly and take on every operation, probably it is a mix of many reasons already mentioned in this tread. One to add is that TD with edging hoped to be able to control the price of Ni (shall we say hoped). Possibly their reasoning goes that yes they may miss out on extra profit from NPI production, but becoming antagonist they could be able to control a stable price of NPI, for their stainless steel production..
