The ABC is a public broadcaster. They are performing an essential role in society. Amongst other things they provide a sounding board for ideas that will affect all Australians.
In regard to politics their role is to scrutinize policy to see that it stacks up.
I have seen politicians of all political persuasions having their ideas put under the microscope; think Kerry O'Brien.
I see this as a really healthy part of a democratic society.
Personally I don't understand the calls of political bias. It is the idea which is being scrutinized not the political party. If there is contest of ideas and it leads to discomfort then perhaps the idea being put forward is lacking.
I am a non-aligned, swinging voter and I love the ABC.

I can't stand the leftist bias at the ALPBC. Can you name any right wing person at the ALPBC. FCS 42% vote for the greens let alone the Labor party. Kerry Obrien is known as red Kerry that should be a clue.
